Found a copy of MIL-P-55110E (12/22/93)
Par 5. Packaging is over a page long. I can fax it to you if you like.
Here are the bare basics:
Three levels for Preservation (A,B,C)
Level A gives requirements for:
Cleaning, Drying, Preservative Application, Unit Packs, and Intermediate
Packs.
Three levels for Packaging (A,B,C)
Level A- wood boxes
Level B- fiberboard, weather resistant
Level C- fiberboard, domestic
I also found Amendment 1 to 55110E (9/29/95) which deletes the entire
packaging section & replaces it with:
"The requirements for packaging shall be I.A.W Purchase Order or Contract".
The requirement is stated the same way in 55110 F (5/31/97).
