It sounds like your scanner software does not support creating .pdf
files. You need to get either the paid version of Adobe Acrobat (not
just the free reader) of another utility that will create .pdf files
(like pdf995 from www.pdf995.com). Scan it into a graphics program and
then print it to the .pdf creator software to generate the .pdf file.
Alternately, you can check HP's website to see if they have an upgrade
that will create a .pdf, or find another scanner that supports this.

Our company just installed Xerox multifunction copier/printer/scanners
that do this for us. Replaced copiers and laser printers throughout the
plant with one of these in each location. The only bad part is when they
go down you lose both your copier and your printer.

Good afternoon, I'm sure there is a simple answer to this question. I
want to scan a document (Word document with signatures) and then save it
as a pdf file for distribution. I am using an HP Scanjet 4200C. It
gives me the options of saving it to a .tif, .jpg, etc...but no .pdf.
What am I doing wrong? Please contact me offline if you can help.
Thanks in advance, Rich
