Just saw this message after I wrote the other and answer to the other one. with the 150F temperature you really don't need the rest if you don't use a lot of low boiling solvent to thin it.

52 is a 100% epoxy system, not a blend like 77. 52 uses a salt type hardener( actually a combination of 2 cationic acid hardeners. the melting point for one of these is 49C the other 86.4C
( 120F and 188F respectively) , so at 125F you would get some curing of the material, however it would not reach the point of sure it could at a temp above 188F.

Thanks again. One last question. My customers procedure was written for Probmer 52 and calls for 1Hr room temp. followed by 4 Hr. at 150 deg.F. My first sample was still soft after this and could be rubbed off with a soft cloth and alcohol.
What would be your recommended cure time at 150deg.F? I don't think they will allow a higher temp.

the ratio is 82 parts 1040 to 18 parts 1050, The thinner you can use will depend on how long you want to have brush ability , before the solvent evaporates. The good Solvent is PMA, but you might want to use some MEK , if you need it to air dry fast. Don't use acetone, it usually has to much water in it and it will make a mess.

Thank you. I have the info now. I am using 1040 with hardener 1050. This is for touch up on a board that the original mask peeled from several areas. Since I will be applying it with a brush is there a thinner I can use?

Charles,
If you could give me the product numbers of the hardener and resin you are using , ( they should be like 1040, 1070 , etc,) I can give you the precise ratios.
Thank you

Anybody know the mix ratio for this?
