Daan,

If I remember correctly from my days in Aerospace it is perfectly
acceptable for a company to migrate to a new standard when an old
standard is superseded. It is entirely the option of the organization to
determine which version of the standard to use - the one called for in
the contract or the latest version or superseded standard.

However, if you are going to do this, I would recommend that you let
your customers know this when they place an order with the old standard
called out.

Hi Technet,

Mil-P-55110D is not active anymore, and has been replaced by
MIL-PRF-31032.
If the production-drawing states "PCB shall be produced according to
to
MIL-P-55110D" does it mean that the board manufacturer has the freedom
to use the replacement specification ?
The specific issue is that Mil-P-55110 D does not allow exposed
fibers,
whereas Mil-PRF-31032 does allow this (with some restrictions of
course), but I assume there are more diffferences between these two
specs.

Best regards,

Daan Terstegge
