Doug,
This is general question, not specifically regarding the 55110:  when
you try to fulfill a contractual agreement, although the spec is
obsolete, you are still comply to the contract and use the old spec as
governing doc and the new doc as guideline.   Otherwise, you have to
provide that performance that is not impacted (that is why PRF is issued
instead of STD).  Am I correct?  It is much easy to dig out the old doc
and comply with it (except one case, I have to ask some B rev from a
customer site.... When the main doc already obsolete), rather than go
through to proof the PRF with no exception... (my 1.41 cents).  Based on
my knowledge, a lot of design houses still keep the old docs because of
contractual binding issues (I may be wrong... Please correct
me...thanks.).  Mil-specs normally have foot notes, "not comply by new
design" date xxxx--- or  somewhere on the doc.
