Hi Vic,

Good question, and too bad that nobody seems to have a clear answer to
this and similar questions.
The problem is that the directive is open for interpretation. I fear
that we will not be the ones to make this interpretation, instead it
seems likely that this will be done by the individual countries that
have to implement the directive it into legislation. This would
implicate that it's possible that some of your European customers only
accept your lead-containing hardware (with real-life proven reliability)
whereas customers in other countries are only allowed to import medical
electronic equipment when it is leadfree.

Perhaps somebody can shed some more light on this issue ?
