Hi Steve yes heavyer copper plated in the holes will do two things, first it
will allow more insersions before problems and two it will allow the board
to survive many more thermal excursions, as to how Thick , my old company would
plate up to 12 -15 oz , its time consuming so it cost more, I would recomend
you find a PCB manufature that can plate 4-6 oz the inital holes need to be
bigger to allow the extra copper but other then tha its a normal PCB. if you
dont want the traces also thicker they can button plate , ie just plate the
vias first and then etch the tracks.
hope that helped
