Copper density = .31 lbs / Cubic inch
1 lbs / Cubic inch = 27648 oz /Cubic Foot
Copper density (.31 * 27648) = 8570 oz / Cubic foot

2 oz Copper cubic foot
----------- X ---------------- = .000233 foot
Square foot 8570 oz copper

.000233 foot x 12 in/ft = .0028 inch

2 oz/ft2 is a weight per area. Divide by a weight per volume (density) and
you get length, or thickness.

What did I miss, other than the metric unit conversions? I admit, I did
miss Paul's first message.

George Franck

Hi Paul,
All of this is nice, but.......oz./ft2 is NOT a thickness--it is a weight.
It
does not convert to a fixed thickness value in any of the units you list.

Sorry,
Werner Engelmaier
