Perfectly OK - that's a standard practice for me for splicing wires, and
I've been in avionics manufacturing for over 20 years.

Does anyone know of any specification for attaching two stranded wires
together. We are limited in thickness as to what we can use.

Is it OK to twist, hook and solder the two ends?
