Thanks Steve. We use that equation daily, but the "81" number went below
our chart which goes down to 29 awg. Do you (or anyone else) have a URL of
a chart that covers the smaller gauges? Or listings of CMA's for the
smaller gauges?

Hello John,
Multiply the diameter of one strand (in mils) by itself, and then multiply
the result by the total number of strands (CMA=D*DxN).
In your case, CMA=1.5*1.5*36 => 81
This is similar to a single strand of 31AWG solid wire.
