Jowan,
We follow IPC 7525-S Section 3.2. Sometimes we have unusual board
designs such as multi component pad designs and we have to make special
modifications.
So if you product design is compliant to IPC specifications then 7525
would be a good place to start. If not then most of the time your
stencil venders have plenty of experience with the "unique" designs and
can make recommendations.

Hi all,

I just got back from a colleague who had a question about a stencil.
It concerned reductions of apertures in a stencil and got me thinking
about
our own guidelines.

So now I'm wondering what guidelines you all use for stencils.
X% area reduction? , X% reduction in width and height, predefined
reduction
(mils/mm), other guidelines ????
In other words; which set of rules do you , experienced guys and
girls,
apply?

regards

Jowan Iven
