Brian, Rudy, Eric,
thanks. Neither of you indicate possible harm by Vigon itself. Will look for additive chemistry, e.g. the 'plastic' body that holds the connector pins. The high pH of Vigon may dissolve something out of that body. It's not PVC, of cause, but there are others, like chloroprene.

Just one remark: pH>12 solutions can destroy nickel plate! We had an idea that the ph of Vigon (pH11) may increase when the liquid evaporates on inside of the connector body. And start attacking the PNi plate.

I'll be back.

Ingemar

I'm not oversurprised by your assertions, but I'm a wee bit puzzled by
how much chloride you found there. I do not think there is any chlorine,
in any form, in Vigon solution - unless you mix it with sea water :-)
This is the first place I'd start asking questions, especially as many
chlorides are poorly soluble in your isopropanol.

Best regards,

Brian
