Eddie,
Wouldn't you consider long-term reliability issues due to the overload of
the weak point, after all, if 1 oz was designed, it should carry higher
currents than 0.5 oz?

If the spots didn't plate up then you're only at 50% of the 1 oz callout,
assuming that half oz (.7 mil) base copper was used.. But you're only
dealing with some isoalted spots which shouldn't be any more of a risk
than a via that has an isolated spot with .7 mils of copper which is
acceptable according to IPC
