Hi, Valerie,
I'm originally from the UK, and there at least, it is always called "Foot
and Mouth Disease". "Hoof" is more anatomically correct, though, I agree,
even if, for me, it doesn't trip of the tongue quite so well, being used to
other term.

just one thing; I have to
say it: the bovine disease is called Hoof and Mouth Disease (no feet). Same
thing really,
but it is Hoof not foot.
