Hi Jerome,
This whole lead-free solder situation is such a dumb, technically nonsensical
issue, that it does not make sense to look for technical understanding. When,
or if, the laws are put in force, then you need to follow the legalistic
rules, or perhaps pay whatever consequences there are for not following them,
and try to make good product cooking both boards and components and in the
absence of adequate reliability data.
