Not at all true. In the first place, how could you use lead in lead-free
solder? Recycled lead is lead, is lead and is lead and thou shalt not
use it.

SOME automotive is exempt for a short period, but is subject to review.
The fines (or other sanctions) would be set by the member-state and
could vary from swingeing to negligible. However, Brussels will fine the
member-state if they do not enforce conformity.

The holistic cost increase will be tremendous if it were calculated,
which it hasn't been.

NO! a) it is not permitted and b) how will you guarantee that every
single gram of leaded solder purchased would arrive back at the factory
and be recovered and recycled?
