Dear Technetters,

We being a PWB manufacturer, make regular measurements of copper
thickness inside PTH using the ETP probe (Electro-Magnetic Induction Type)
of the CMI-XRF copper plating thickness measuring equipment after the
electro-
plating process on a sampling basis for every flight bar.

We would like to know whether there is any limit on the number of
measurements
/insertions or life for the probe before its
repeatability/accuracy/functionality
gets deteriorated. This information is critical for us from the point of
view of
assuring PTH quality to our customers as this is the heart of the PCB
process.

Request useful inputs/guidelines on the subject.

Regards,
M A Ranganath
