Steve,

We have an Electrovert Vectra system with an Ecno-fluxer that is actually a
USI unit.

I've found that for thicker back planes, I turn on my chip wave along with
the lambda wave. It really seemed to facilitate top side wetting. I also
spray the flux on pretty heavy as well, it seems to get the flux to wick up
the lead. I can recall thinking that I wasn't getting good topside due to a
lack of heat. The more heat I applied the worst it got. It was my belief
that the flux was drying out before the wave. So, I applied the flux a bit
heavier and turned down the pre-heat but turned on the chip wave. The
results were sweet.

Good luck.
