I'm not sure I follow the logic of all the arithmetic but I do agree that the
future of 1st World electronics mass production does not look good.

Bear in mind that electronics is in the worst recession it's ever had and a
lot of the US jobs would have gone anyway. What I do suspect is that when the
world slowly pulls out of recession those jobs will not re appear in Europe/US
but we will see substantial growth in the Far East to meet the demand. Lets
face it why should electronics be any different from automobiles, ship
building etc.?

By the way isn't Technet an international forum?
