Dear Tech Netters, I recently put the note below out on the net but got
only two responses, and one of those was asking me for information!

Please can I make a second request for help - I would really like to know
what is happening in the US and why regarding the use and cost of disposal
of tin based etch resists.  In addtional to the general information
requested in my earleir note I would also welcome repsonses to the specific
quesions immediaetly below.

Do you treat spent tin-stripping solutions on site or have them taken away
for treatment?

What does it cost per unit volume to have these spent solutions taken away
for treatment?

How much do you spend per annum on tin stripper disposal?



My Previous note

I am carrying out a study of sustainable technology opportunities for etch
resist stripping.  By this I mean that I am interested in finding out what
possible technologies are being used/investigated for recovering tin,
either as tin or tin oxide, from spent etch resist strippers.

If there is a way to recover the tin and reuse the acid there is the basis
of a sustainable approach.

I am assuming that most spent stripper is currently tankered away for waste
treatment and landfill.

Any figure on the scale of the resources used ie lost per year would be
useful.

The key challenge is finding a viable method for getting the colloidal tin
oxide, which forms in the stripper, out for recycling.

Is anyone out there doing anything in this area?

Is anyone still using tin-lead etch resists?

If anyone can help I would be pleased to hear from you.
