Franklin,

We are a small (35 people) contract manufacturer and I'm currently a
certified instructor for IPC-A-600, IPC-A-610, and J-STD-001 (Plus I am
responsible for inspection, document control, ISO 9000:2000, and more -
you get to wear allot of hats in a small company!!)

All of our floor personnel are 610 trained (24 hour class), all of the
people soldering also have J-STD-001 training (40 hour class), and our
Engineer, Purchasing Manager, and Receiving inspectors are IPC-A-600
trained (21 Hour course).

We also have an in-house ESD Awareness training program (2 hour course)
that everyone goes through every 2 years.

We have found this training to be very worth while, and have done
classes for some of our customers as well. We are located in an older
'steel town' and since there is no other high tech companies in the
area, training is a must.

Prior to IPC, we had our own in-house training programs, but over the
last 5 years, we have incorporated IPC training.

Our customers appreciate the expertise we have gained through the IPC
training and certification programs.

Tom
