Dear Wasef

We have details of %'s of currently favoured finish types for both boards and components from the industry surveys that are the basis for EU and International roadmaps. You can see that basic results in the roadmap available to download from the frontpage of our website; http://www.lead-free.org/

There are also additional details on the split between preference according to component type e.g. Sn for connectors, SnBi for some active component type etc but these are not published.

Subject: [LF] Matte Tin vs NiPd/NiPdAu

Greetings,

On reading the on-going discussions on use of Matte Tin or NiPd/NiPdAu as
lead finishes, I would like to know how widely is one lead finish being used
over the other? Despite the fears of whiskering, it seems a number of
manufacturers are opting for the Matte Sn finish. Does anyone have any
comparison numbers? 50-50, 70-30 (in favor of Sn) etc?

Best Regards

Wasef
