Jonathan,
      Being a PWB guy, I just assumed that the oxide was on a copper
substrate.  Is this true?  The oxide that I mentioned will only hold true
for oxided copper substrates.  If it is copper, the oxide may have been
substantially reduced to copper metal.  This is typically done in the PWB
world.  If sealed afterwards, you may not see any of the chlorides, etc.
It could also be present as the oxide.

Was this Cupric Chloride a basic composition for Copper black oxidized
surface?
I am just wondersing that the EDX results, Auger results we did just show
traces of Carbon, Cu, oxygen
and non chlorine, any ideas are welcome very much

Jonathan,
The predominant composition of any reduced oxide should be a mixture
of copper metal, cuprous chloride, and cupric chloride, mostly cuprous.
However, after some time has passed, and the circuit has gone through
thermal excursions, much of this will have re-oxidized back to cupric
chloride.  Any organic found would be only a residual from processing.  Of
course, any object that has been exposed to earth's atmosphere will have
carbon and oxygen adsorbed on it's surface, so the presence of C and O by
Auger is probably not a significant find.

Hello Guys:
I would like to ask you regarding my analysis.
I examined a competitor package that passed MSL1 criteria.
We found out that the surface of the package is black (improved EMC
adhesion),
and i suspect that it was black oxide. Is there any analysis method to
confirm this?
We did Auger analysis and found these Eleements (Carbon and Oxygen), I
would like to ask if
black oxidation contains carbon?
