I had some equipment damaged by a fire in my privite(NOT ACI)lab. Smoke,
soot, is very harmful to electronics. I pulled all the electronics from
the cases and cleaned the boards to the best of my ability,(defluxing
agents) reassembled and then sent out for calibration. Most of the
stuff is still working, and holds cal. I did lose a computer hard-drive
about 90 days after the fire (obviously I did not take it apart and
clean it).

It has been three since the fire.
I feel your pain.
