The protection for extended storage life is tin can with vacuum (like
your chicken soup)... Work well for prevent oxidation, not well for
anything aging caused by diffusion or stress relaxation.  If you store
fresh vegi in the tin can, it wouldn't help that much in term of
extended life... Dry food is OK...but still lost some flavor...there is
egg too.like your big cap.....(stop, stop, it is dinner time!).
