Jack,

We have had the same Hollis machine since 1987, and it has been in its
current location since 1996. The machine is located on the first floor of a
two story building. We use galvanized steel ductwork (PVC and Stainless are
even better but more costly) that travels up through a dedicated, heat
insulated column and exhausts at the roof level. this is a requirement here
to ensure that people are not directly exposed to the fumes. The exhaust
fumes are clear, so we do not require any special filters (i.e. smog hog).

Thank you,
Paul Black
Manufacturing Engineer

Subject: [TN] exhausting a wave solder machine

Hi,

We have recently installed a wave solder machine (Hollis Future 1, the same
one with the flux drip question of a few days ago) and have a professional
but temporary set-up for exhaust. The reason it is not permanent is that
we have had quite different recommendations from a few contractors. Does
anyone have any recommendations on a proper and effective method for
exhausting this machine?

Thank you,

Jack
