Paul, TechNet, regarding solder analysis - has anyone (solder manufacturer)
done a Measurement Quality Study (repeatability and reprodicibility) of your
techniques? What are your uncertainities in measurements of tin, copper,
gold, etc?
I suspect a solder user would not want to commission such a study from its
supplier(s), as it would entail some expense. But would not the solder
manufacturers themselves know their on measurement uncertainties? I called
an ISO 9001 solder company's quality department one time to ask for
measurement uncertainty information. The person I talked with did not have
the information, and I do not believe the person even knew what I was
talking about.
