This may be an 'otherwise' opinion, but I think the important specs may be
the bonding material or method and the fluid used in the ultrasonic cleaning
(water, detergent solution, solvent).

Subject: [TN] Ultrasonic Cleaning of Black Anodized Parts?

Just came across an in-house spec that calls for some metal components that
have a
black anodized coating to be cleaned in an ultrasonic cleaner prior to
assembly. We are currently
NOT doing that, but, I suspect if we do, the bond between the component and
the coating will
break down.

Before I test one and scrap it, are there any opinions (professional or
otherwise?)

-Carrie

P.S. I don't have the specifics on the coating or the cleaning (ex: energy,
time, etc.), but, just
looking for a general opinion.
