Without seeing the actual file it sounds like the aperture file supplied is
open to interpretation. There are a lot of screwy aperture file formats out
there - really makes you wonder what some of the software writers were
thinking when they came up with some of them.
As others have suggested, 274X is the way to go, but if you can't do that it
would pay to review what you are sending out to your board shops. If you
have a good relationship with a shop that has been running your old boards
for some time be wary of switching to a new shop to save a buck, you could
be in for a whole new pile of problems.
Bottom line, try and work out the problem amicably with the shop.
