Surely in such a technical forum the explanation that they "snick out sight" (sic) can be better formulated.
Does anyone have the Hidden Meaning Function with application to Losing Hold handy?
From what comes to mind, with
Sz as size of vital component
EOT as rate of things coming together, or deadline
Σ EOT as all things coming together
Ls as loss rate of specific
Ls = Σ EOT / ( EOT / Sz)
The return function should be a direct inverse, no?

You never find these pieces because they never actually reach the floor, if
you watch carefully as they fall, you will see them just snick out sight the
moment before they hit.
What they then do is wait around in whatever dimension they're in and then
reappear just after you have given up hope/replaced them/the project failed
or whatever. This is because the energy they need to stay in this mystery
dimension comes from their usefulness factor. As soon as this runs out they
return to our universe.

I went through it and found 79, then went back looking for the ones I
missed and only found 5 more for a total of 84. I guess the 85th one is
that missing piece that you can never find when it falls on the floor.
