That's a very good question.
I suppose the best answer anyone can give is -- It depends :-)

I have not yet started doing hands on experimentation with the lead free pastes, but, my initial thought is it depends on the answer to many questions:
1.  Is the flux NC or OA?
2.  What's the alloy?
3.  What type of components are on the board?
4.  What's the board finish.
 
These variables (and I'm sure many more) contribute to one's decision on how to design a stencil aperture.
