About three years ago we did some trials on a large testboard chockfull
of fine-pitch parts. We compared a lasercut stencil and an electroformed
nickel stencil which I expected to have superior paste-release
properties.
The truth was that the lasercut stencil showed significantly better
results, with better paste-release and print definition. A process
engineer from another company told me about similar trials he had done,
with exactly the same results (he used stencils from the vendors as I
did).
Of course this doesn't say anything about the electroformed stencils
from your supplier.....

Is anyone using electroformed stencils? We have 3 BGA 14mil apertures
and a
LLC with 16 mil we are having paste release on an auto printer. 7 hours
were
spent tweaking the print operation....separation speed, squeegee
pressure,
alignment was perfect.
We use a multi speed (vibrate) separation for paste release.
