Woahh!
Rudy and David, the issue here is not so much an insect repellent, but the
effects of ant/termite infestation secreting formic acid.
We have had many instances of this problem, especially in the Tropics, when
these little bug (gars) get into the enclosure. To our experience, no
amount of insecticide will last long enough to prevent this happening,
although as Rudy say's, put some into the coating and it sure helps!
However, you really do need to use a conformal coating and one that will
resist formic acid - at least for some time. I have one that has already
been used by many for this purpose - more off-line.
