Ramon,
If you are interested in automatically capturing the data on what
component the operator touched up, or replaced, etc and adding another level
of functionality, look at the system the Derby Associates sells. It does
just what you want as far as identifying components, traces, etc. in "visual
inspection" mode, but when hooked to an ICT, and the ICT calls out a
component failure, when the repair operator gets the board the "bad"
component is highlighted in red. The failure data from ICT is also captured
and the software ensures a failed board must be repaired and then retested
with a "pass" before it moves to the next process step. We have been using
the system at Bose for years and are very happy with the operation. You can
find more information at:

Regards,
Chris

Could you tell me the different softwares available that highlight the
location of a component ( s ) on a monitor board drawing by clicking an item
on a component list. This is so an operator can find a part on a board
quickly while manually assembling or modifying it.

        Regards,
        Ramon
