One other point about reworking is - are you sure that the component will
not be de-graded during this operation...especially if you expose it to
around 200 DegC and levering!?

Furthermore, what is the application for this assembly? Will someone die if
it fails?

If the answer is yes - then scrap the assembly.

You might then want to consider having a coating that is repairable - by
easier means than described.
