ESD protective products posses one or more of the three control properties:
* Low charging or antistatic
* Conductive or dissipative [able to remove charges when grounded]
* Shielding

For storage or transportation of ESD sensitive items outside the ESD
protected area, an ESD protective product having shielding, creating a type
of Faraday Cage, should be used. Most common are: Metal-In or Metal-Out
Bags or conductive totes. To ensure that charges are kept to the exterior
of the package, it's imperative that the bag be closed and/or the tote
covered.

Per ANSI/ESD S20.20 fundamental ESD control principle: "Transportation of
ESDS items outside an Electrostatic Protected Area requires enclosure in
static protective materials; low charging and static discharge shielding
materials are recommended."

Pankaj,
I suggest keeping the antistatic bag if you are going to be shipping
overseas. The antistatic bubble wrap will give you the static protection,
but it does not give as good a protection against the environment as a bag.

Hi Technet

Well my Question is abut the packing of the populated boards. Several time
our company sent the board to another sister branch. We are use following
process for it

1. First we pack in a antistatic bag. ( We want to remove )

2. After we wraps it in a antistatic Bubble sheet.

3. Then we put it in a carton Box,

4. Rest place in the carton box we fill-up by the normal foam.

5. Seal it by normal Packing Tape.

Question is, if we remove the antistatic bag and wrap the board directly
in
antistatic bubble sheet, and follow the rest process , is it will right way
at the point of static safety as well as cost reduce ?
