Being one of those who keeps the old stuff around (like a pendulum swinging,
this old stuff will become new stuff again) you may want to take a gander at
MIL-E-5400 Appendix A.  The appendix lists applicable standards and
requirements for most box level components.

Some of us keep old copies around with the supporting standards to gain
perspective but it is becoming very dated information.  It certainly made
life easier for the system Program Managers since there were asigned
specialists (experts) for each of the technology segments.  Someone that was
held responsible and you could turn to for the bottom line.
