If those are glass lenses, you can try to polish them with diamond fine
grain size powder, most opticians can do it. The coating has to be
vacuum-evaporated.

I have a question involving sunglasses that I thought maybe the experts
here that work with optics lenses or the chemical gurus could answer.

I have a pair of sunglasses that have gotten something on the lenses, I
don't know what. The reflective coating has been damaged extensively. The
company that manufactured these sunglasses has been bought by someone else
and there is no way to get my hands on replacement lenses. These are VERY
expensive shades, keep in mind, so I really want to fix these. What would
be the best chemical to just go ahead and strip the remaining reflective
coating off of these? If I can accomplish this, then would there be any way
to recoat the reflective coating? or send them off for recoating??? Any
help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Jason Gregory
