hi,
as you are painfully aware, the problem is that the parylene has gotten between the bga and the pwb (as it should) and bonded the bga to the pwb. no known practical solvents, and you just read that the high temperature required is not an option.
we had airvac design a removal nozzle that had a lever on it and gripped our package by the edges. when the solder at the bga's reflowed, we torqued the package and tore it loose from the parylene.
are you ready for that? didn't think so.
phil

Subject: [TN] reworking paralyne (paraxylene) coated BGAs and uBGAs
Hello fellow Technetters:
Anyone have any experience removing paralyne (paraxylene) coated BGAs and
uBGAs with conventional air vac DRS 24 type hot air equipment - I tried
conventional reflow profiles and it was very unsuccessful.
