Hi Technetters,

Here at Nielsen our field reps use butane powered soldering irons when they
go into a home to meter a television or VCR. The problem with them is the
lack of control with the heat when we're trying to attach a wire to an SMT
pad, device, or via. We've tried buying them soldering stations that are
thermally controlled, but having the iron tied by a cord is a problem,
especially when you're on your knees with a TV or VCR spread apart on
someone's living room carpet. Does anyone know of a cordless, self
contained iron that is temperature controlled? I've heard of a possible
battery powered one, but haven't found anything on them.
