Just in materials, 10-30% higher since demand is lower for lead free solder
alloys.

It's all coming off the bottom line here.
>How do your solder joints look?
NOT like Sn63, the grain is much more pronounced and a good joint has a
duller appearance.
>How's training the inspectors going?
We use peer inspection, and have a small staff so training hasn't been a
issue. I shudder to think hat it would have been like in some of my past
lives with big QA departments.

My unsolicited comment; given the choice I would stick with Tin/Lead solder.
In a larger operation the cost would go directly to the consumer, who would
receive *no* benefit from the change.
