Dan,
So I take it you don't think kids will be licking the lead off the leads of the PCB's buried in their cell phones and Nintendo's?

Subject: [TN] On lead and stuff

Good morning Tech Net,
During the late sixties lead was found in every snow mass in the *world*. It
came from auto emissions.
Combine this with the press lead paint got when kids were eating flakes and
viola "lead phobia". Removing lead from paint and fuel was probably a good
thing. Unfortunately we, as a species, tend to compartmentalize things as
*good* and *bad*.
Perhaps we, as shock troops on the technology front, should be thinking in
terms of applying the right
technology/material/process to the right problem. And, just as important,
effecting change. After reading the messages posted on this forum it appears
that the cure for lead is worse than the disease.
Could a grass roots movement change the course set by popular opinion and
politicians seeking re-election? Seems to me it should be worth the effort.
Just one hillbilly's thoughts,
Dan
