Ohh, tough one. From a slightly related personal experience:
We had to measure spot size of some displays and several people in my group
were asked to perform the same test. The resulting answers were reasonably
close together (not quite 6-sigma) except for one person. He was not
colorblind (which should not have mattered anyway) and his eye sight was ok.
But his ability to perceive was not very good. I did not find a way to
quantify his problem (?), but made sure that he never had to inspect
displays.

So, watch out.

        Technetters,

We are bouncing around the idea to formally "Certify" our inspectors. I have
seen on this site several times that an "Eye Exam" is part of that
certification. What exactly are they checking for during that eye exam
(Color blindness, healthiness of eyes, 20/20??)?

Would like to hear from as many as possible on the subject of the eye exam,
plus how you certify your inspectors.
