PHIL, YOU MIGHT TRY WHAT WE DO. TRAIN YOUR OPERATORS TO HOLD THE END OF THE LEAD WITH THE POINTER FINGER WHILE CUTTING THE LEADS. AFTER CUTTING GRASP THE LEAD WITH THE THUMB AND POINTER FINGER AND DEPOSIT IT IN A TRASH CAN OR OTHER SUITABLE CONTAINER.

Subject: [TN] through hole wire cutters

Hi folks,

We're still in the dark ages using through hole technology. One of the joys of TH is lead trimming and seeing just how far you can make the leads fly when you cut them.

What have you other TH people done to minimize flying leads? I remember some diagonal cutters that had rubber molded into the back side to hold the leads. I also remember these were a pain in the butt. Using a high speed cutting wheel or "Q-cutter" is not an option for us due to the fact we clinch our leads and the Q-cutter just makes more work for us.

Thanks in advance,

Phil Nutting
