Ron,

It is not so much that we can't use flux, it is just that we are set up for OA flux only. Our board washer uses only DI water. My assemblers have been using our OA liquid flux to aid in heat transfer and wicking, but they all agree that nothing is as good as our old Rosin flux wick.

Phil, you have a unique problem. I would suggest that if you can't use flux that you would be better off just using a suitably sized stranded plated copper wire without any flux.

Of the many brands and styles of solder wick on the market, with which one have you had the best luck?

Our specific needs are for non-fluxed wick. Rosin or no-clean flux are not acceptable in our system.

Thanks in advance,

Phil Nutting
