Yes, it sounds like flux residue.  However, this is an opinion.  To be
certain, the residues should be analyzed.  There are several organizations
with the capability to perform the analysis.  Reliability and the effects of
leaving the residue in place or the effects of removal processes are another
issue beyond the scope of this response.

I have spoted white residues under header Socket strips.  It looks like
some kind of crust and some times the residues observed looked like
yellow translucent crystals.

Can this be entraped flux?  I beleive so, but need to have opinion from
experts to conform.
