I was just going to suggest the poured epoxy flooring material - it's the
most wear resistant.
Steve, you are right about the cost though. We would have liked to put it
over the whole floor, but chose to only put it in the high traffic zone,
near shipping, where the floor is under its hardest usage - pallet jacks,
etc. I think we used material from Stonhard.
We had to change the wheels on all our chairs on the production floor to
keep from scratching the tiles we used elsewhere too quickly. Our previous
facility had the wax - the floor looked awful after a while, because grime
gets stuck and pushed into the wax, and it isn't easily cleaned. Only a
complete strip down and reapplication of wax would improve the look. Tiles
are better than wax. There are some fairly flexible ones from 3M that don't
chip or break easily.

I would have preferred a poured floor myself, but wasn't given the option.
You
have to do it before you put anything else in the space, but if the
maintenance
requirements hold true (no wax, just mop), it sounds like a dream floor. No
tiles
from a different die lot to replace when they lift, no worn out carpet, no
recharging
a wax, etc. Costly up front, though. Maybe that's why you didn't list that
as an option?

Anyone with any experience with a poured ESD floor?

Subject: [TN] ESD floor wax

Good morning,

We are looking at some new assembly space an we have an opportunity to make
the floor whatever we want. Three options, ESD tiles, ESD carpet or ESD
wax. Regarding the ESD wax, does anyone have opinions about 4500 Staticide
Gold or 4600 Staticide Ultra available from Techni-Tool? Is the 24 month
"wearability" a real number?

If you prefer, offline comments gladly accepted.

Thanks in advance,

Phil Nutting
