Hi Folks,

Our company has specified; IPC-SM-840, CLASS T, 0.001-0.002" THICK.
on each board we have had manufactured for the last few years.

I just received notice from our current manufacturer that they cannot
consistently meet this requirement for 1 to 2 thou thickness, and want
to produce a thickness at a minimum of 0.4 thou.

My questions are;
1. Is this standard considered old and I should be looking at specifying
something else?
2. Are there any repercussions in changing to the suggested reduced thickness?

Regards,

Colin Weber
