Press and be done.  The reliability data is based on non solder configuration.
One time in the past I had an assembly that had problems (turned out to be software) and when it came out that the press fit pins were being soldered all heck broke loose.  We went through buckets of money justifying and recalling etc...

It was conclusive: solder the solder type and press the press type or you owe anything and everything that goes wrong.
