Thank you Rudy. That was the answer that I was looking for. My original
question was more on the order of a sanity check before I answered another
group here.

To answer some of the questions, I am not flicking lit cigarettes into
buckets of liquids to see which ones blow up, I am not experimenting with
the flammability of Mt. Dew, I have not OD'd on Mt. Dew. Of course, this
could change is certain smart alec metallurgists nearby keep making snide
remarks............. Never piss off a chemist..............

Doug:

I have run many many flash point tests myself...

The chlorinated solvents have no flash point, and will not burn at all,
that is one of the factors that made them popular.

The general rule is that the flash point is that temperature that if the
liquid is heated to, and a cigarette thrown into it, it will burst into
flame.  Clearly, that is a pretty low temperature for gasoline, and pretty
high for motor oil.

The chlorinated solvents will burn, but not at atmospheric pressure.
